The FCA's London office is relocating from 25 The North Colonnade and 1 Canada Square, both in Canary Wharf, to 12 Endeavour Square, Stratford, E20 1JN over the summer of 2018. The communication address in the FCA Handbook is amended from 1 July 2018.
For customer documentation which refers to the FCA's address, the FCA encourages firms to update their printed materials as soon as reasonably practicable. However, the FCA says it recognises that firms may have stocks of printed materials that refer to its current address. Provided that firms are actively taking steps to replace that material so as to include the new address as soon as reasonably practicable, the FCA would take those steps into account in deciding whether it would be appropriate to take enforcement action against a firm that continues to use existing stocks of printed material for a period of no more than 12 months after its change of registered address on 1 July 2018.
The FCA does not expect firms proactively to notify all their existing customers of the change of address, but expects firms to take reasonable steps to ensure that they refer to an up-to-date address for the FCA when communicating with their customers.
In summary, this instrument makes changes to the Handbook to reflect our forthcoming office relocation, and to ensure that users of our Handbook are provided with accurate information for submissions and communications where our address is a necessary component.
